How to delete multiple TikTok videos

Say you have been posting twice a week since 2020. That is somewhere north of 400 videos sitting on your profile. Now try to remove them.

TikTok’s documentation on editing, posting and deleting describes the flow from the post itself: open the video, open the menu, pick delete, confirm. It works fine. It just works once, and there is no documented way to select a batch and act on all of it.

So the real cost of “delete all my TikToks” is four gestures times four hundred, in a grid that reloads under your thumb while you scroll. Most people quit somewhere around post forty and tell themselves they will finish on Sunday.

What actually happens to a deleted post

It does not vanish. TikTok moves it to Recently Deleted, where it sits for 30 days and can be restored from there. Same documentation page.

That 30-day window is the most useful fact on this whole subject and almost nobody mentions it. A deletion spree you regret on Tuesday is fixable. A deletion spree you regret in five months is not.

What goes with the video: the view count, the likes, the comments, and every link anyone ever saved to it. If an old post is the reason a client found you, deleting it closes that door for good.

Deleting is probably not what you want

Most people searching for how to wipe their TikTok do not want the files destroyed. They want them not visible, which is a different request and a different setting.

Set a post to Only you under post visibility and it disappears from everyone else while the video, the caption and the numbers stay in your account. No countdown starts. You can undo it in 2031.

My rule is simple: private for anything I am not sure about, delete only for what I am certain I never want back. There is more on the tradeoff in private or delete.

Back up before, not after

TikTok lets you request your data, and the export can include your posted videos. It takes a few days to be ready, which is exactly why you start it before the cleanup and not while you are already halfway through.
